North Wales Coastal Home - Master Bedroom Final Reveal
I’m excited to share the final reveal of the master bedroom at the North Wales coastal home! In case you missed my blog post where I talked about the plans for the upstairs of this house, you can read it here.
A reminder of how this room used to look (during the clear-out phase). Basically, it was a blank canvas. The brief was to create a homely, calming space with a coastal feel.
The scheme started with the wallpaper. Sticking to a similar colour palette to the rest of the house, I chose a palette of mint green and pink, with copper and brass accents to give it a lift and plenty of rattan to add warmth and texture.

How beautiful is the wallpaper?! It’s by Mini Moderns who specialise in mid-century inspired prints so it’s perfect for the style of this house which was built in the 1950s. The tongue and groove panelling which we had installed adds to the coastal feel. We added black accents in the accessories which is especially important with pastel colour schemes because it prevents the space from looking wishy-washy. The old Colwyn Bay postcards are eBay finds and are displayed in hanging frames above the bed - an easy and affordable way of adding personality to a space.
See how the copper starlings shimmer in the sunlight? So pretty.
Instead of a wardrobe, we chose this black and copper hanging rail from La Redoute. It takes a lot less space off the room than a wardrobe would have done and creates a more open feel.
The rattan light shade and light oak chest of drawers add warmth and texture.
The lovely rattan dressing table is from Made. We chose Carpetright’s Nordic Berber carpet in Mushroom Cobble which adds more texture and really suits the coastal theme.
The pink and mint green colour palette from the bedroom is carried through to the new en-suite. You can see more pictures of the en-suite and main bathroom transformation in my final reveal blog post, where I show you how we separated the existing bathroom in two.
This space has been completely transformed and it has such a calming and relaxing feel now.
